"But I'm not a model!" ...

... "I can't do makeup."
... "I am not photogenic."
... "I don't take a good photo."
... "I don't like having my picture taken."
... "I'm not pretty."
... "I don't look like that."

After 18 years of photographing people I could say I have heard it all!  These are just a few of the comments I have heard through the years.

As a full service portrait studio, we can help you with all of those things.  I attend monthly meetings/classes so that I can continue to learn how to create beautiful imagery. Portraits that my clients are proud of and want to share with their friends and families and have for a lifetime.

For some photographers, a full service studio simply means they will photograph everything from seniors and weddings to babies and families and maybe even commercial work too.  But, for me, being a full service studio means that we are prepared to guide you on what clothing and colors are best for your portrait, direct you into the best pose to make you look your best, and know how to use the best lighting, again, to bring out your best features.  Your session can include professional hair and makeup application if you choose. Or, as a Master Artist,  I can completely create a look for you in post processing for a one of a kind heirloom portrait to hang on your wall for years to come.

Below is a portrait (of myself) that I used for a sample "before and after" image just to show you what can be done in post processing of your image.  I took this to an extreme just to show you some of the things that can be included in a final beauty portrait.
***Remember - this is generally more than I would normally do just to show you what can be done, I know everyone's idea of "enough" is different.  What your idea is will be discussed during your Modern Beauty consultation.

Some of the things I retouched are:

~removing under eye bags
~ softening wrinkles/smile lines
~skin smoothing
~skin warming
~neck wrinkles
~eye sparkle
~makeup application
~hair smoothing and "puffing"
~contouring
~brow waxing

Although I can do all of this in post processing in the computer, I recommend our professional hair and makeup services for a small additional fee. This is more cost effective for you (and then have a nice night out afterward) than for me to do this work to the 20 of your favorite images you choose! :)

Lighting, posing, styling, makeup, hair.  All of these things come together to create a beautiful portrait.  I have continued to study all of these things on a regular basis.  I attended a nationwide conference (Imaging USA) in Atlanta this past January where I took many classes with some of the biggest names in the industry.  I also received my Master Artist Degree at the conference.   I am off again next week to attend a week long school and study with a photographic artist Thom Rouse.  I have no doubt I will be back with some great new techniques and inspiration to create even more amazing portraiture.

Watch for a announcement coming this week for a very special Mother's Day Special!
